Portland’s Top Ten Must See Sites

The majority of “Portland’s Top 10 Must See Sites” are located on the west side of the Willamette River. Several of these sites are located within the same property.

Washington Park includes 400 acres of trees. Offers tranquility and hiking. Within this park, the most authentic Japanese Garden outside of Japan exists. Next the Rose Garden, bursting with roses, displayed on over ten thousand bushes with 500 species.

Nearby, the Oregon Zoo beckons visitors to visit 260 species of animals, with over 20 considered endangered.

The Chinese Garden, where on entering, a feeling of being in paradise lasts until exiting the garden gate. Close by the Pittock Mansion with 22 rooms located on 26 acres, and constructed in the early 1800′s, deserves being on the must see list also.

Visit the Pearl District, an international leader in urban renewal, featuring arts, restaurants, shopping. Browse Powell’s Books, located in the Pearl area with over an acre of floor space, and covering an entire city block.

Cross the river: Board the yacht “Portland Spirit,” for a cruise along the waterfront before visiting OMSI, and the “Lost Egypt” exhibit.

Most of Portland’s top ten sites, open daily except for a few holiday closures.
